6336 want me to drink lager

After seeing an ad for 6336 on Dave just now (between episodes of QI XL), I decided to ask the following question:

“Which of the beers in my kitchen should I drink next – be precise, or I’m not paying you.”

(a feeble attempt to check that they’re not psychic.)

(it would appear that they’re not!)

The answer (exactly what they sent):

“You should the Carling next. It’s the most popularr beer in the UK, so you’ll be in good company. You pay 6336 automatically when you send your text. Texts to 6336 cost B£1. Would you like an even easier way to ask you questions? Download the FREE 6336 app from here: http://6336.com/”

So, 1) they can’t be bothered to construct an actual sentence in English as a reply, and 2) they assume that I have Carling in the house.

Even if I were to have that sort of pish in my kitchen I’d describe it as being in the fridge (since lager needs to be chilled enough that you can’t taste it any more) rather than being in the kitchen. The choices actually were Ringwood Fortyniner, Innis & Gunn Rum Cask Finish Oak Aged Beer, Fullers Discovery, or Sharps Special, or some not-yet-ready homebrew Fixby Gold (there must be a blog post there!) which isn’t clear yet, but is certainly drinkable.

Everything else has been drunk, which is a) concerning, and b) a prompt to order more beer from the CAMRA Beer Club.

So, the moral of the story: 63336 aren’t psychic, and they think Carling counts as an acceptable beer.
